We managed to get away from Brissy for a long weekend. Four relaxing days in Mooloolaba - wonderful! I did manage to drag myself out of bed early one morning to take these shots though...

The Brisbane Eye

Playing with shutter speeds...

While down at Southbank I took some photos of the "Brisbane Eye" our own answer to the London Eye! Some slow shutter speeds made the ferris wheel look like it was going much faster then in reality.

Both these shots were taken with a shutter speed of about 2 seconds.

Funky Neon

There is this cool Neon sign down at Southbank. Every time I walk past it I think that I'd like to photograph it... Well I finally did.

I took a number of shots, mainly just of the neon, but I like the crop that includes the lonely seat. I actually added a little bit of grain to this shot to add to the drama.

Then I went a little crazy in photoshop.... I can't quite decide which one I like best. I'd love to get some comments on whether the photoshop is funky or just too much...

...and cropped to make it a little more abstract...

Busy busy...

I have been pretty slack of late with my photography... but I'm back on it!
I'm still on my cityscape theme at the moment. (I'll branch out onto a new topic next month to avoid boredom...).

I suffered for my art this week... I was attacked by millions of mosquitoes while taking the Storey Bridge shots. But I quite like the results...

I didn't take my camera out this weekend unfortunately. I know I should have chosen to go out on Saturday morning. It was overcast and the light was beautiful - but I chose to sleep in instead....
Nevermind there is always next weekend.

By the way - anyone who wants to comment on the blog - please do so. I would really appreciate any comments you have. Unfortunately it does appear that you need to create a google account to do so - but it doesn't appear to be too difficult to do so.

Landscape Photos

I had some motivation to take some landscape photos last weekend. My cousin has just bought an apartment in Madrid and wants some photos for his blank walls... I'm not sure this is what he is looking for... but it is a start to my journey of rediscovering my love of photography.

I took these photos last Sunday, and it has taken me until today to actually look at them and do something with them. This is a slow process - but I find I have no time or energy on the days I work...
